Retro to get Reburbished and Major Update!

While we may be ending our Main Podcast series with the 13th episode, Retro is still happening.

True true, only two retros are out and the third has been delayed (troubles between which to record first, Retro 3 or GBP 13, has been a small reason for delay). However, delays for us are usually good. Why? Well we are able to figure out what we want to do for the next one. It's good because we are able to look back on our last episodes, see what works and what doesn't, then we can work to make sure we don't make those same mistakes again.

For Retro's sake, it's kind of getting "refurbished" or "renewed" to say the least. Looking back, the first two retro episodes were really the Prototypes of what we were trying to achieve. Both episodes took completely different approaches to what we may or may not have wanted. Now we know what we want and it was not found in what was in those two episodes, it was found amongst our daily lives.

So what the heck is happening exactly? Well I have developed a schedule to keep to for each episode that I think will help us keep on track and make the episodes fun for us and any downloaders out there:

RETRO PODCAST SCHEDULE:

1.OPENING/ INTRO SONG: we always do intro songs. Earlier in our Main Podcast series we tried out a new song opening and closing per episode, but we ended up just using break songs only and keep our traditional opening and closing. With our last Retro episode, we used a song by artist Tuxe for our opening and closing. Tuxe has very awesome songs and we wish to keep using at least one of his songs, as long as Tuxe gives us the ok. We may ask other artists out there if we can use their music in due time...

2. RAMBLES: our biggest and most obvious problem is that we ramble a lot, what's even worse is that we enjoy rambling. Usually when we do these recordings, it's when we all get together after not seeing each other for a while and we usually want to just hang out as friends, which is hard when we also try and keep the seriousness in our episodes at the same time. Rambles is a moment for us to just talk, tell stories, act like bumbling idiots and give us time to "let all out" before we move on to an actual subject.

3. BEST AND WORST: with our GBP series ending soon, we will have to move our game impressions over to Retro to keep "tradition" in a sense. But there will be a slight change in how we do this. Normally, we talked about, mentioned, and gave impressions on every single game we played between last episode to recent episode, which worked fine for GBP, but now each person will only have to do two game impressions: the best game we played and the worst game we played. This doesn't necessarily mean good as in " godly heavens" amazing or "pile of turd" bad, it just about what games we were personally intrigued by the most and what ones, while not necessarily bad, didn't compute to us all that well.

4. MOVIE REVIEWS: here is one we only did in Retro and keeping still. I'm still unsure if whether we're just reviewing a recent movie we've all seen, best and worst, or just talking about recent theatrical releases in general.  we'll just have to see what we think will work I guess.

5. SPORTS TALK: now this is definitely new! Recently I have been talking with Taylor's younger brother Josh (for anyone who doesn't know, he appeared as a guest in episode 3 "what's your cat purses name?"). And he has just recently been willing to appear in the retro series. No one panic, we are NOT replacing Shrew or making Josh the new Shrew! Shrew is Shrew and Josh is Josh! In fact, I'm pretty sure this will be an every now and then thing, since I'm unsure if he'll always be willing to appear for every episode. Moving on, Josh agreed that he would love to do a sports section in the episodes. Josh really is the sports guy when it comes to everything basketball, football, etc. I've never met anyone else so dedicated and willing to stay home and watch a game instead of doing... anything else at all! Plus, it's always great to hear Taylor hark at his brother constantly too!

6. TOP 5: We sort of did this back in the day, but never evolved into it as a main thing. Well now it will be something that hopefully all of us will look forward to! Basically as a final thing in each of our episodes we will do a top 5 of any particular subject such as top 5 heroes, villains, battles, sci-fi movies, etc. and it will be new each and every episode. This may be our longest addition to the episodes  because each person will have a top 5 to talk about. Maybe if Retro kicks off strong we can have our fans, readers, followers choose the next top 5 topic for us each episode!

7. CLOSING: basically we say farewell til next time, maybe throw in some hints for next episode, and close with our closing outro music.

* Hopefully the episodes will keep under the two hour (or at least hour and a half) time limit, which we only really succeeded in doing for a couple episodes (like two tops)*

Let us know what you think of the new ideas for Retro and what you think can make it even better.

Until next time...
