So I'm an Idiot

I could have just edited the older post, but I felt a new post was necessary. I actually forgot about another Super flick that's coming out this year! How I forgot it I'm not quite sure, could be the lack of trailers for it.
But it's the Wolverine film!

This film will be cool because it takes place sometime AFTER X-Men 3: the Last Stand, which is the first film in the series so far to do that! The story follows Wolverine (obviously again played by Hugh Jackman) who journeys to Japan to learn the ways of the Samurai, which is based after a comic story with the same premise. While X-Men Origins: Wolverine did a lot of things wrong, like destroying the Deadpool character, this film looks to be avoiding all those problems and has less to do with overload of supers and more about true character development.

This film comes out in June...

So now I'm going to put this film on the poll so it can also have a fighting chance, sorry about that guys : /
(EDIT): never mind, Blogger won't allow me to edit the poll without erasing all the votes :(

Quite Obvious: Iron Man is Boss! New Poster and Trailer out on March 5th!!!

Nerds, prepare thy selves. It is time to see one of the coolest posters for a Marvel film that we have ever seen thus far!
Usually Marvel has had a hard-ish time trying to make posters of their films that impress moviegoers and fans. Quite a few disliked the posters advertising the Avengers back before that came out (which obviously didn't affect the Billion dollar making movie's success) but finally we have a poster that not only reveals all sorts of awesome, but it also makes those poster whiners shut up for once (seriously, these guys actually think posters affect the actual film).

With the rumors of what happens in the next and final new trailer for the film, which comes out March 5th, this poster actually helps those rumors to be well... true. Rumors about the next trailer will reveal the infamous Iron Legion, which is basically all of Tony Stark's suits, fighting the entire Mandarin army, how freaking cool does that sound!? Now considering that the newest Iron Man armor is the Mark 47, that means the possible legion will be a 46 man army! (I'm including War Machines suit too since he has the new patriot suit now). What armors can we expect to see though? Well maybe this very recent image will give you an idea:
These suits have quite the characteristics to each one. Assuming that this pictures is legit, which seems to be the obvious case, then I cannot wait to see what each suit does in the potential epic showdown! We can clearly see the old Mark III, V, and War Machine suits as well as the new Mark 47. But what are all the other suits? Well the suit on the top left looks to have whip like things coming out of the hands, which could possibly a suit based after the same whip technology used by Whiplash in Iron Man 2! There will also be the long rumored Deep Space suit which can be clearly seen in the new poster. But here is also an image of it here:
Another believed suit is the HeartBreaker suit which just looks outstanding enough as it is!:
The final suit (below) has only been seen in this still image and is the most controversial suit on the net! This is possibly the Hulk Buster armor and it may very well be in the film and possibly part of Iron Legion. Not many people like this particular suit, actually quite a lot don't, and I can clearly understand why. But then again, it's not like we've seen it in action yet! So if it is real then I'll hold my breath until more stuff about it comes along:
I bet everyone else who knows Marvel better can tell us what all the other suits might be, but what kinds of suits / what suits does anyone else want to see in the third and possibly final Robert Downey Jr. Iron Man film?

Mega Rumors: Assassins Creed IV Revealed? and next Xbox Revealed on April 26th?

Click here to see the first screenshot from "Assassin's Creed: Black Flag"
Is it true that the next Assassins Creed game will be titled "Assassins Creed IV: black flag" and revolve around a Pirate Assassin???????????????

Many Images and reports on other game sites hint at a new game with a new protagonist, new assassin, and a new pirate themed enviornment which was proabably made based on the approval of the navel warfare from the third game which got shockingly large appraisal.

In other news, Microsoft may or may not be revealing their next Xbox console on April 26th. It's obvious that the Wii U has its gimmicks, and PS4 was literally dissected and specific on its new goodies, so what will the next Xbox bring to the table that is essentially a unique gimmick of their own?????

Poll: Which Super Flick will be the Best!?

Everyone who complains about a multitude of hero films every year should really shut up now. With Marvel's Avenger related plans and DC's upcoming plans, we can expect to see Supers on the big screen for eons to come!

This year we have four big screen premieres for Supers, three sequels and one a reboot. Which ones do you think will dominate in terms of fanbase, box office, whatever?

IRON MAN 3 (releases May 3rd 2013)

Iron Man 3 is the first film to bring about the second Phase of Pre-Avenger solo films after the events of the first Avengers film, so it clearly has a lot to live up to. Both Marvel and Disney have done quite an awesome job at keeping a majority of plot points secret, even in their trailers and such. The simple fact of knowing Tony Stark's true, original arch nemesis, the Mandarin is going to appear is more than enough to make fans rush to the theaters. Also the simple fact that this third entry is quite easily the darkest film made yet (in the Iron Man franchise that is) makes it all the more intriguing.
Like I said, this film has a lot to live up to and so far it looks to be keeping its promise. Will it be bad? Doubt it. Heck even Marvel's lowest and weakest money making film in the series, the Incredible Hulk, was still an awesome film despite being the weakest when compared to the other films in the Avengers line up. And while a few didn't exactly like the second Iron Man film (why!? I'll never know or understand) this third one will be sure to dominate!

KICK-A$$ 2 (releases June 28th 2013)
Yes, we are including this film too. The simple fact that every single human who has witnessed the first one loves it is enough to make a worthy sequel. It's also awesome to see they have the entire cast back as well as newcomers Jim Carrey (as Colonel Stars and Stripes) and Donald Faison (as Dr. Gravity) as well as many others. While no trailer or teaser has surfaced yet (as far as I know) we can still be assured a movie as awesome and as funny as the original.

This will be a great film and make good money, but it won't be as great compared to the other films. Why? It's clear that this film will most likely be another R rating. R rated films almost always never make the same amount of money as other ratings do simply due to the restrictions and maturity. While on a small occasion a film that's R rated could make great money at the box office, the possibilities are never that high to begin with. So while I hope the film dominates, it may be doubtful when this film is the only non-Marvel / non-DC super flick to take on tough competitors. Again, that's just a matter of opinion.

MAN OF STEEL (releases June 14th 2013)
Here is DC's ultimate coin toss. The superman reboot should surely capture the appeal of audience, and not just because Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen) and Christopher Nolan (the Dark Knight trilogy) are making it happen. Superman has literally not had a good movie since the first film (from waaay back in the 70's I believe) and many people were devastated with the Superman Returns film, which tried to continue where the older films left off. But now we finally have a rebooted coming. Will it succeed the super's bad past or will it join the bad roster?

The film looks to be brilliant in my opinion, it seems to have that same serious origin feel that helped Batman Begins become an excellent beginning of a trilogy. I personally believe this is what DC should now and forever make, awesome origin stories and complete trilogies for each of their DC heroes, none of this "Justice League because we're intimidated by Marvel's Avengers" crap. But personally I fear that this film will for the brief weeks of its release, fail to make money due to the scars from Superman Returns. Then again, Hulk was in a similar mess after Ang Lee's horrendous film, but he managed to get out of the gutter. So maybe, just maybe...

THOR THE DARK WORLD (releases November 8th 2013)
The first Thor film had to succeed by making us believe this universe can exist with Iron Man's and Captain America's, which it definitely did! Now the sequel has to successfully introduce the other six realms into the
universe (nine realms total like the Norse Mythology, three have already been introduced). We can easily expect an awesome fantasy adventure headed our way, why? Because the brilliant creator of the Game of Thrones TV series is directing this bad boy! Having Christopher Eccleston  as Malekith the accursed also rocks!

There is easily no flaws I see in this since the biggest possible flaw was saved in the first film. The only real flaw I can see is having this film release in November. Sure fantasy films are great for the winter months but this is seen as a Super flick! I don't think a Super hero film has ever even been released in the winter, has there?

So which super movie do you think will be your favorite this year? Which ones can you not wait for? Which do you think in any particular reason will dominate this year? Please vote in the poll or comment!

Upcoming Videos to Expect

We looked at the Poll (as it stands so far), we've met your demands, now we have an idea of what our next videos will be playthroughs of!

After some talk and general decisions, we allowed enough Energon to squeeze through our minds. Because our very next video will be the second part of our Transformers Fall of Cybertron playthrough! This was decided due to the surprising demands that we've been getting, plus we did leave the first video open for another one anyways.

Also seeing what the highest demanded games are on our poll so far have turned out to be, here is a list of what our next six games will be:

- GeekBeerz vs Cybertron Part 2
-Taylor vs Batman Arkham City
(possible) Taylor vs Batman Arkham City 2
- Tom vs Assassins Creed III
(possible) Tom vs Assassins Creed III 2
- Geekbeerz vs Portal 2
(possible) GeekBeerz vs Portal 2 2
- GeekBeerz vs Twisted Metal
-GeekBeerz vs COD Zombies
(possible sequel vids/parts)

As you can see by our system, we will as soon as conveniently possible play whatever games have been listed the highest on our list, then proceed to the second highest, and the third, and so on and so forth. If there is a game you desperately want us to play that's on our polls, you better make sure everyone else chooses that game or just keep voting for it like a mad dog.

As of now, our Dishonored part 2 video is now online! Go and check it out on youtube if you want!

Until next time...

More PS4 Stuff...

More Playstation 4 news was released today, some good some disappointing depending on what you wanted or not.

  • PS3 games disc or digital will NOT play on the PS4 : (, however you will be able to eventually download PS3 games from the PSN similar to how we currently download PS2 titles from the PSN.
  • Dualshock 3 controllers will NOT be compatable with the PS4, however PS Move wands and any other Move based controllers will.
  • PS4 WILL be 4K eneabled, but only for Photos and Videos.
  • the Witcher 3 was revealed to be coming out for the PS4! HOORAY!!!
  • Lastly, Sony will no longer be focusing on 3D gaming crap! HOORAY!!! Sense just kicked in! (sorry, being a little crude, I know)

the Games for PS4

A crap ton of news for a future Console means a crap ton of new games announced. Well, there isn't quite many to be honest, but there is enough to make everyone wizz with true joy!

DESTINY

Destiny is the name of the next project from Bungie, the studio that originally created Halo. Unlike the exclusive Microsoft franchise, Destiny is being published by Activision. Court documents from the Call of Duty publisher released to the public as part of the Zampella/West trial describe Destiny as four “sci-fantasy, action shooter games.” The Destiny games are set to come out sometime after 2013. Activision released an official statement regarding Destiny's release date falling after the end of the year. This is possibly due to the lack of any next-gen announcements to date. The next three games of the Destiny series were originally set to be released in 2015, 2017, and 2019.

Personal Thoughts - I was excited for this game before it was even announced for the PS4. The art direction is wonderful and the fact that it is made by the creators of Halo, the game which they literally want to overpower and backslap with the Destiny series, is what makes this game all the more interesting. Also the fact that it's going multi Platform for PS4, PS3, 360, and the soon-to-be Xbox 720 is astounding!

 DEEP DOWN (working title)

Deep Down is a new game coming from Capcom. Deep Down is the working title of the game, so it could change before the game is released. Little is known about the game, but based on the clips shown at the PlayStation 4 announcement event, the game looks to be set in a fantasy setting.

Personal Thoughts - I thought Destiny was a beautiful game, until this bad boy revealed itself! Probably the only other game that also seems to utilize the next gen graphics most were hoping for. Don't get me wrong, Sure all the games for PS4 are amazing looking but Deep Down seems to just show it a wee bit better, especially in the gameplay (yes! this video shows actually gameplay and not just cutscenes).

INFAMOUS: SECOND SON

Second Son is the "third" installment of the Infamous franchise, after Infamous and Infamous 2. In this universe, the "DUP" is a police and monitoring group dedicated to keeping order and capturing Conduits (those individuals who can harness the power of Ray Sphere Energy). Cole McGrath and Zeke Dunbar are seemingly absent, and the results of The Beast are unknown (including the outcome of Infamous 2). Currently, the hero appears to be the character in the video below, however supposedly there will be multiple heroes to play as in the game.

Personal Thoughts - While I expected an actual "Infamous 3" title to show up, I am not upset in any way. Taylor in particular is easily ten times more excited for this than I am, and I'm very excited!

KILLZONE SHADOW FALL

The "fourth" entry in the Killzone franchise was officially announced at Sony's PlayStation 4 reveal event in NYC on February 20, 2013 as Killzone Shadow Fall (or Killzone Shadowfall). Guerrilla Games portrays the Vektans and Helghans as living side-by-side on a single planet in a "Cold War" like environment. The two populations are separated by a very large, very noticeable wall. Both populations vie with each other over standards of living, resources, and choice of lifestyle.

Personal Thoughts - I LOVE KILLZONE! It has always been one of my most favorite Playstation franchises of all time! While I, like many, expected a Killzone 4 and a continuation from where the mysterious ending of Killzone 3 ended, I like the whole prequel take and actually it sounds more interesting now that I think about it. I'll have to prepare money so I can play this and Killzone Mercenary (which comes out for the Vita in September).

DRIVE CLUB

Drive Club is a first-person driving simulator that aims to mimic the activities of auto clubs that focuses heavily on the PlayStation 4's "Share" feature for videos and images. Additionally, the developer (Evolution Studios) plans to allow players to challenge one another with user-created driving challenges of different criteria and skill levels.

Personal Thoughts - I am personally not a huge fan of vehicle racing games in particular, however I would be lying if I said this looked bad. The game does look amazing and the share feature they want to utilize sounds like a good idea too.

THE WITNESS

a puzzle oriented game announced on 2013 February 20 during Sony's PlayStation 4 announcement. According to the project director, the game will be approximately 25 hours of puzzle solving and exploring much like in the vein of Myst.

Personal Thoughts - Nothing in particular interest in this game except for its outstanding art and the fact that it's a baby of the Braid creators. Also, it reminds me of the game Journey.

KNACK

a PlayStation 4 exclusive and an action platformer. It is being developed at Sony's Studio Japan and being directed by Mark Cerny, who is also PlayStation's long-time lead architect.

Personal Thoughts - This is basically what I think of if LittleBigPlanet had a baby with Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, with a little Destroy All Humans sprinkled on top. I am both pleased and interested in the game. I also noticed that it was/is being made by Japan Studio, shouldn't they be busy working on THE FREAKIN LAST GUARDIAN GAME!?

WATCH DOGS

Announced at Ubisoft's E3 2012 Press Conference, Watch Dogs is an open-world urban survival game with a measure of tactical stealth action thrown into the mix. Watch Dogs will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Playstation 4, Wii U, and PC.

Personal Thoughts - Already an interesting game before it was announced for the PS4 also. I have always had a somewhat faith in what UbiSoft can bring to the table 9reasons other than Assassins Creed).

Other announced games with very little to detail or been there, done that...

FINAL FANTASY (PS4)
Other than the announcement for its appearance at this years E3 2013, no videos or screenshots have been revealed thus far. But I'm sure Geoff is pretty excited for this title announcement, just a little lol.

DIABLO III
This game will apparentally also come out for PS3 as well, other than the major news of an iconic computer game series heading to the console roots it's still basically the same Diablo game as we've seen before. Still, a console release is a pretty big deal.

Other possible Games to be revealed:

It's extremely possible for Grand Theft Auto V and Beyond: Two Souls to also make it to PS4, especially for GTAV which was delayed. Another game called Singularity is coming out by Quantic Dream some time, is it possible that it's another entry or sequel to Raven and Id's game of the same name? It is believed that a next gen Sonic will be released too, whoever would be excited for that.

We can expect more games from comapnies like EA, DICE, Square-Enix's Luminous engine, Ready at Dawn, Naughty Dog, and Bethesda. And of course, as always and forever expected, more Call of Duty games.

Also keep in mind that the company Warhorse studios is making a mysterious unnamed Midevial RPG game, as we mentioned in our next gen graphics post (which you can see HERE)

So what game are you most excited for!? Let us know!

Holy Crap: Playstation 4 comes out Holiday 2013 + Specifics of the Next-Gen Console!

Well, Sony literally hit us hard today with news upon news with their big announcement today. But the rumors for the most part were true, the Playstation 4 (PS4) is real and it comes out later this year!!!!

What exactly does this new piece of hardware have that makes it so unique? What makes it different from the PS3, more importantly from any other console? We will pinpoint every aspect that Sony has revealed to us:

the Console_____________________________________
Sony revealed everything, except the physical appearance of the console (which we'll expect to see at this years E3 2013). However, Sony did give a precise perscription on what the Hardware will have and be able to do. Post-event, Sony revealed the system runs on a single-chip custom processor and utilizes eight x86-64 AMD Jaguar CPU cores, with a next-gen AMD Radeon based graphics engine powering the way. The "highly enhanced PC GPU" packs 18 GCN units, the GPU packs 18 processing clusters, each packing up to 64 cores. That provides a lot of parallel processing power, and will thus handle the majority of the PS4's grunt work. It hits 1.84 TFLOPS of processing mojo. The console will use GPU compute features to take advantage of this components raw power - it'll be used for general computation tasks as well as building graphics.

We're also looking at Blu-ray disk support plus good ol' DVD, plus HDMI output support as well as Analog-AV out and an optical digital output. It will also have AMD too! It's possible that the console will also be 4K enabled, but it isn't confirmed yet.

the Memory____________________________________
PS4 will ship packing 8GB of GDDR5 memory, basically as powerful as many game based PC servers allowing to save a butt ton of stuff. Sony has revealed that you will be able to power down the PS4 mid-game and then switch it on again in seconds and pick up right where you left off. That's the sort of loading power that this memory enables.

the Controller___________________________________
Remember the leaked PS4 controller images? They were true to an extent! Say hello to the sexy Dualshock 4 controller! The company's Lead System Architect Mark Cerny took to the stage to reveal the all-new companion, which has been redesigned and now features a more rounded form factor as well as what appears to be a slightly rubberized grip with "enhanced rumble capabilities." There's also a touchpad now (clearly taking a cue from the Vita), a headphone jack, the long-rumored share button, a light bar that, according to Cerny, will be utilized as a "more friendly way to identify players" and a stereo camera which is used to track the 3D position of the Move-compatible controller.

Sony's touting the addition of the "Share" button as one of the biggest features of the DualShock 4, allowing players to easily send tidbits like video clips and screenshots to places such as Ustream, Facebook and, naturally, the firm's own PlayStation Network.

Goodbye legendary "start" and "select" buttons, which are now replaced by the "share" and "options" buttons. Also the D-pad has been somewhat redesigned into a larger and more button precise functionality for games (the D-pad was already excellent for the past 16 years, so this must be even better). The analog sticks are said to be more straight and functional, defeating what was used before without making it them Xbox 360 mocks. Obviously, the iconic triangle, circle, x, and square buttons remain the same. The R1 and L1 buttons are also comparatively large and more rounded, potentially improving responsiveness and usability.

In terms of weight, the DualShock 4 adds a bit of heft to the DualShock 3, going from from 6.77 ounces to to 7.4 ounces. It's important to note, however, that Sony has cautioned that all of the device's specs are subject to change and the overall impact to the in-hand experience could be negligible.

Unlike the leaked rumor images, the touch pad now sports a textured finish and is no longer recessed into the design, but rather stands slightly above the rest of the frame, making it easier to distinguish and more visually recognizable. The LED is no longer juts out at the top of the controller, but rather is built into the frame itself. It has also been given a more stylized triangular shape instead of a bland rounded bar.

In addition to helping track a player for motion-based controls, the built-in LED can also be used to represent in-game elements, like a player's overall health.

the Compatability________________________________
Get ready lucky PS Vita owners,
Sony has revealed that the PS4 will launch with the ability to stream games directly to your PS Vita. In exactly the same way as the Wii U allows you to switch off your TV and continue playing on the tablet controller, the PS4 will wirelessly send your games to the Vita.
There will be similar synergy between "all Sony devices" which means Xperia handsets and tablets, Bravia TVs and BD players.
Sony hinted that there will be more announcements in this area, too. The obvious next reveal in this area is the ability to play PS4 games on your Vita from any location using a wireless connection.

the Instant________________________________________
It will have an instant on/off feature allowing your to shut down during a game and then boot up from scratch in seconds and resume where you left off. The days of waiting 60 seconds as your console loads up are about to end.

the Move________________________________________
Sony has confirmed that PlayStation Move will play a big part in the PS4 ecosystem. However, it has not yet been revealed whether the PS4 will launch alongside a new PS Eye camera and new Move controllers or whether the peripherals are staying the same with all the enhancements made console-side.

the GaiKai_______________________________________
PS4 will utilize a cloud computing system, so far the first major gaming platform to do so. The cloud computing will utilize Gaikai streaming technology.
Gaikai was a tiny, optimistic company throwing everything at the wall, desperate to find a use for its cloud gaming technology. Today, those dreams have been fulfilled: Gaikai's David Perry walked out on stage at Sony's PlayStation 4 event, confirming that the new PlayStation 4 will use that tech to stream games over the internet, with no need for discs or downloads.

the Appraisal
In the end, Sony attacked us with everything they've had. Many gamers are obviously excited, but even many game publishers are appraising the console, particularly Blizzard and Capcom. Sure we already had the Wii U and rumors of the Xbox 720, but PS4 was the first to really show us what to expect from the upcoming next Generation.... uh, Generation.

Games
Obviously games will be coming out for it, but so far only a handful of games have been announced. Happily, each one sounds awesome! We will make a post talking about each game, but here is a list of each game announced officially (so far):

  • Deep Down (working title) / Capcom
  • Destiny / Bungie
  • Diablo III / Blizzard
  • Drive Club / Evolution
  • Untitled Final Fantasy / Square Enix
  • Infamous: Second Son / Sucker Punch
  • Killzone: Shadow Fall / Guerrilla
  • Knak / Japan
  • the Witness / Thekla inc
  • Watch Dogs / UbiSoft

UPDATE: Despite rumors, the Playstation 4 will NOT block used games! Hooray!!!

Hasbro Sends Cease and Desist Letter to Fighting is Magic Devs

Yesterday, Hasbro sent a cease and desist letter to Mane6, the team working on My Little Pony: Fighting is Magic. Here's what they posted on their site:

Hello, everyone.

We have what for most will be bad news, for us are terrible news, and for a selected few might actually be good news.

We have received a C&D letter from Hasbro's Legal representatives, asking us to cease game development, remove any materials that might contain My Little Pony characters, names, locations or related elements from the sites we control (Our site, our youtube, our twitch), and "cease any further use of [their] MY LITTLE PONY property".

Options have been considered, lawyers have been contacted, and resources have been (mostly) exhausted.

We have attempted negotiating with Hasbro for the continued use of the property in our non-profit, voluntary project, but so far we haven't received an answer. As such, we're complying with the contents of the C&D letter until we receive answer from their PR and/or Legal departments.

We also want to inform the general public of the final and irrevocable resignation of James Workman (Elosande) from the Mane6 DevTeam, effective February 6, 2013, as well as reminding of the final and irrevocable resignation of Prominence, effective January 30, 2012. The Mane6 DevTeam no longer represents their interest, nor do they represent ours.

We'll keep everyone posted as the situation evolves, but be aware we might not be able to respond to comments and questions due to the delicate nature of the situation.
Thanks for following our project so far.
It's a shame to see such a promising fighting game get shuttered by Hasbro after over a year of development, not to mention what also happened to MLP: Online a couple months ago. Hasbro should be supporting these projects instead of shutting them down. Sure, they're good at making toys, but games aren't really their forte. If they want to keep the bronies coming back to their content and not just the TV show, they need to start backing these projects up like Capcom did.

There is still hope for that though. As Mane6 said, their lawyers and Hasbro's lawyers are in talks to see if they can come to some sort of agreement. Here's hoping for the best.

EDIT: I should also note that Lauren Faust, the creator of Friendship is Magic, has also thrown her support to Mane6 by offering to make original characters for them for a new game.

New gameplay videos! Official for every week!

GeekBeerz is doing something rather different' but rather fun for all of us. We are making constant gameplay videos for Youtube!

Now for everyone to understand, these are not exactly playthroughs or walkthroughs (whatever they're called). We do not play the same games continuously unless we have to, and we aren't exactly fond of the whole "face cam" thing that so many Youtube gamers feel the need to do. Instead we edit our videos to only show either our funniest or favorite moments in that specific game we play. However, if the game is rather short we'll will actually play a walkthrough of it (like we did with our Eversion videos).

We plan on releasing at least up to two videos a week, not including weekends, and each video will be of an entirely new game. So far we have three videos out of our gameplays of F.E.A.R., Bioshock 2, and Minecraft. Check them out below!

Most of the games we play will be short or long videos depending on the amount of stuff we liked in the gameplay we found. anyone can give us requests for games to play by choosing on our polls, commenting here or commenting on the actual Youtube comments. We hope everyone will appreciate what we're doing

Project Awakened is back!

Project Awakened has surfaced once more in the form of a Kickstarter project. This game has been in development limbo since Midway went bankrupt back in 2009. Some of the employees went and founded Phosphor Games which has since made iOS titles The Dark Meadow and Horn. They're asking for $5,000 as a minimum and will be made using Unreal Engine 4.

For those unfamiliar, Project Awakened started out as Hero being developed by Midway games. After Midway went under, Phosphor Games was formed by employees from Midway and they picked up Hero and renamed it to Awakened.

According to an interview with Jim Sterling from Destructoid, Phosphor was pitching the idea to a lot of major publishers. Chip Sineni, the director of the game, had this to say about the process: "Everyone we personally talked to loved the idea, and each of them would say 'we should do this game together,' and ask us for all this documentation and material so they could pitch it to the executives. Then a couple months later they'd have long faces and tell us the same thing we heard from every other publisher -- that the company was only investing in sequels or similar games to well known IPs ... 'tweaks' of  ideas already in the market."

It's frustrating to here that even with big titles like The Last of Us and Dragon's Dogma that are new and interesting that publishers still have the mentality of, "If it's not a sequel, it's not worth the marketing effort."

Here's hoping the best of luck to Phosphor Games and Project Awakened.
