Pokemon X and Y Announced For 3DS

Just a couple hours ago, Nintendo announced that the 3DS would finally get it's own mainline Pokemon games. Pokemon X and Pokemon Y will feature a full 3D world, a new camera, new pokemon, and some old favorites. The new starters are the water-type Froakie, the grass-type Chespin, and (my personal favorite) the fire-type Fennekin.

Here, have a trailer:

Both versions will release world wide in October 2013.

  1. Hey Geoff, I knew you would like the fire type starter lol. But you forgot to inform the reasoning behind the names of "Y" and "X", it's when a 2D image has to use X, Y, and Z axis to become 3D. Hence the names

    1. Awww, that's a cute and fun little theory kid, that's not the reasoning behind the name though and I'd like to see your source. There is no official explanation for the name yet, if anything, this is a much more reasonable explanation behind the name, behold!

  2. Sorry I have not been online for quite some time (busy college crap) but perhaps I should've explained a bit more in my quick little comment.

My source is simple, the Axis theory I found has been on various chatrooms and comments for or about the game. Whether it be youtube, IGN, Game informer, or whatever. But of course that wasn't the only theory I found, for there are a lot of either strange or interesting ones i've found.

The axis one is just the theory I believe in, everyone else can believe in whichever theory they want to. But so far nothing has been officially confirmed by either nintendo or gamefreak as far as I know (again I haven't been online for some time so maybe it has been confirmed)
