Everything you need to know about Pokemon Conquest (a.k.a. + Nobunaga's Ambition)

Remember when we revealed Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition a while back? Well it is indeed coming to the US! But the name for America has been changed to Pokemon Conquest, and we ain't complainin!

But what are we to expect from this Pokemon entry? Surely this new turn that Gamefreak has attempted is reasonably questionable. Here is a list of what we already know about this:
  • the game is actually a Mix of two different franchises, one is Pokemon and the other is Nobunaga's Ambition which is a hugely popular RPG series in Japan.
  • the game takes place sometime in the past, long before the events of Pokemon Red and Blue, and takes place in a Mideval landscape known as the Ransei region which consists of 17 castles (or nations) each with Military commanders paired with specific pokemon.
  • your starter Pokemon will be an Eevee, a good starter that can evolve into one of seven different evolutions. But you can also befriend a variety of other Pokemon, not all 649 Pokemon are in the game but all the Pokemon in the game are handpicked specifically from each of the five generations.
  • Instead of playing as a trainer, you will play as a Warlord (specifically the "Hero") and your character will age and rank the more you play and strengthen him or her. The Warlords have unique types assigned to them which strengthens if you have a Pokemon of the same type by a special Link or Bondage that can be 100% linked to specific Pokemon. Each Warlord can have up to three Pokemon at a time, or three out per battle.
  • Nobunaga himself will appear as the main Warlord leader, second main next to your main protagonist, and he will have strong Pokemon companions such as Black Rayquaza and Zekrom.
  • as a side note, other Warlords will also age and rank as the game progresses.
  • there will also be warriors in the game, they are spread out randomly throughout the nations in Ransei region. Each will also have special links to specific Pokemon.
  • you will be able to unlock special episodes after defeating each Warlord, specifically Nobunaga, and you can also collect and befriend new warlords.
  • you can't exactly go into a bush and capture new Pokemon, but there will be an occasional swarm that will appear in various locations, when they are announced they will only stay for that specific month. Not many Pokemon are available in these swarms but many of them can evolve into powerful ones.
  • you can use six warriors per battle, and each can only use one Pokemon per battle.you decide which to choose in a battle by type advantage, movement abilities, and support.
  • Pokemon still evolve by leveling, but by the Link increase between you and your specific Pokemon. If your link level to that Pokemon is low, then it will take longer to evolve.
  • When a Warlord ranks, it is shown through an evolution-like process. When a Warlord evolves, their stats increase and they are able to befriend and raise even more Pokemon and even a different best link Pokemon.
  • you control up to six Pokemon in various combat scenarios, this is done via isometric view and is turn-based.
  • the game takes approximately 20 hours to complete. But many new missions appear at the end of the game that increases that time tenfold.
  • Overall, the goal is to befriend as many Pokemon and Warlords as you can in order to increase your army and take over the nations.

The game has already released in Japan last month, and will be released in America on June 18th
