That's right, and oh jeez. Playstation is making a game that is extremely similar to "Super Smash Bros." games, the difference? It is different!
This game has huge similarities with Nintendo's title, having all company-based characters beating the crap out of each other on a big open level that's unique and whatnot. But there are indeed striking differences, for example: pretty much all of Nintendo characters are E rated fighters at best, Sony however has multiple characters from all types of ratings (Kratos=M, Sackboy=E, Sly Cooper=T, etc.). Another difference is that this game, as far as we know, actually uses life bars instead of the hit point strategy in Smash Bros.. The background also constantly changes, now we aren't sure how this works exactly. The background can go from having Patapon's marching (like the picture above) to becoming a LittleBigPlanet forest world. It seems as though you can pick the actual level stage, like the one above being Hades underworld, and probably picking what backgrounds appear. Agian, nothing is for sure at this point.
Yeah it takes an idea from Nintendo, but all games basically take ideas from somewhere. And I am personally impressed with this game. I don't care if it's Nintendo, Playstation, or Xbox even, I just want to play my favorite characters and beat the crap out of others :D
Now here's a thought, will Xbox do something similar in the future?
So far the only characters revealed are Sweet Tooth, Fat Princess, Kratos, Helghan soldier, and Sly Cooper but many more will be revealed in the coming months. No release date for this game is confirmed?
What do you guys think? Is this a good idea to make a Playstation version of Smash Bros.? Or do you nitpick and believe that creativity is dead?

Crysis 3 official trailer revealed
Crysis 3 finally released the full 2 minute trailer today. Check it out:
Next Call of Duty takes place... in the Future!?!?
Could Activision be moving the next installment of the alternate-year
Call of Duty from the past to the future? It looks as though we'll be
parting with that tradition soon, if a teaser image and accompanying
video on the game's official site is to be believed.
More details about this next CoD game will show up during the world reveal on May 1st

Batman Arkham City's Game of the Year release announced... HOLY CHEEZITS!!!!
Everyone who has played the games and looked up reviews know that this one one of the, or the, greatest game that came out in 2011. A game of the year edition was highly expected, but this... this... this is just pushing it too far.
Just look at this cover. from a glance it looks as though the game is called "10 out of 10", and the games actual title is one of the smallest things on the cover! I do like that picture of batman, and always thought it would be a great cover, but the whole magazine look of this really does kill it. Arkham City was boss and one of my top five favorite game franchises, but I'm thinking this cover mess will kill its hype.
Despite all the clutter, everything said in the clutter is 100% true... the game does rock. And I would recommend anyone who hasn't bought Arkham City yet to go and get this version. Obviously not for the cover, but for all the free goodies you get.
This game of the year edition comes with all DLC stuff, which includes Batman skins, maps with catwoman, night wing, and robin as playable characters, catwoman's story mode, and even the new Harely Quinn's revenge story that comes out on the same day. It also includes a free download of the Batman: Year one animated movie.
Now that's a lot of stuff worth your money. Yeah the cover is a magazine, but hopefully it's a double side cover with a better opposite end or at least just the case sleeve that holds the real cover art inside. Because this game, especially as a game of year version, is really worth picking up.
This edition comes out on May 29th, as well as the Harely Quinn's revenge...

the rumored God of War IV is actually Ascension
Now the four of us here at GeekBeerz have never gotten into the God of War trilogy, actually Geoff hates it, but I (Tom) have given much more appreciation to Santa Monica studios after they helped create the awesome game that is "Twisted Metal". Plus I have also searched up the story from the God of War games, via Wikipedia and other sites, so I pretty much understand why many people like the games despite the overall dark tale.
But my opinions are not what this Post is about, everyone knows that a few weeks back Sony has been teasing us with hints and clues to an upcoming game, which many strongly believed would be God of War IV. Well they were right about it being God of War, but it is not the fourth one.
God of War: Ascension was announced officially by Sony last week. It is a prequel game that tells a tale in a time before Kratos was a god, before he became an angry murderer, before raged war against his father Zeus. Now I personally disliked the character because of his anger throughout the game, not really a character I would like to play, but could this prequel game make Kratos more enjoyable as a character?
The best part is that the game will not be challenging Microsoft's anticipated game, Halo 4, it will instead come out sometime in 2013 while Halo 4 releases in November.

Everything you need to know about Pokemon Conquest (a.k.a. + Nobunaga's Ambition)
Remember when we revealed Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition a while back? Well it is indeed coming to the US! But the name for America has been changed to Pokemon Conquest, and we ain't complainin!
But what are we to expect from this Pokemon entry? Surely this new turn that Gamefreak has attempted is reasonably questionable. Here is a list of what we already know about this:
The game has already released in Japan last month, and will be released in America on June 18th
But what are we to expect from this Pokemon entry? Surely this new turn that Gamefreak has attempted is reasonably questionable. Here is a list of what we already know about this:
- the game is actually a Mix of two different franchises, one is Pokemon and the other is Nobunaga's Ambition which is a hugely popular RPG series in Japan.
- the game takes place sometime in the past, long before the events of Pokemon Red and Blue, and takes place in a Mideval landscape known as the Ransei region which consists of 17 castles (or nations) each with Military commanders paired with specific pokemon.
- your starter Pokemon will be an Eevee, a good starter that can evolve into one of seven different evolutions. But you can also befriend a variety of other Pokemon, not all 649 Pokemon are in the game but all the Pokemon in the game are handpicked specifically from each of the five generations.
- Instead of playing as a trainer, you will play as a Warlord (specifically the "Hero") and your character will age and rank the more you play and strengthen him or her. The Warlords have unique types assigned to them which strengthens if you have a Pokemon of the same type by a special Link or Bondage that can be 100% linked to specific Pokemon. Each Warlord can have up to three Pokemon at a time, or three out per battle.
- Nobunaga himself will appear as the main Warlord leader, second main next to your main protagonist, and he will have strong Pokemon companions such as Black Rayquaza and Zekrom.
- as a side note, other Warlords will also age and rank as the game progresses.
- there will also be warriors in the game, they are spread out randomly throughout the nations in Ransei region. Each will also have special links to specific Pokemon.
- you will be able to unlock special episodes after defeating each Warlord, specifically Nobunaga, and you can also collect and befriend new warlords.
- you can't exactly go into a bush and capture new Pokemon, but there will be an occasional swarm that will appear in various locations, when they are announced they will only stay for that specific month. Not many Pokemon are available in these swarms but many of them can evolve into powerful ones.
- you can use six warriors per battle, and each can only use one Pokemon per battle.you decide which to choose in a battle by type advantage, movement abilities, and support.
- Pokemon still evolve by leveling, but by the Link increase between you and your specific Pokemon. If your link level to that Pokemon is low, then it will take longer to evolve.
- When a Warlord ranks, it is shown through an evolution-like process. When a Warlord evolves, their stats increase and they are able to befriend and raise even more Pokemon and even a different best link Pokemon.
- you control up to six Pokemon in various combat scenarios, this is done via isometric view and is turn-based.
- the game takes approximately 20 hours to complete. But many new missions appear at the end of the game that increases that time tenfold.
- Overall, the goal is to befriend as many Pokemon and Warlords as you can in order to increase your army and take over the nations.
The game has already released in Japan last month, and will be released in America on June 18th
Everything you need to know about Pokemon Black 2 and White 2
Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 is shaping up to be excellent sequel games, and the first "legit" sequels that hasn't really happened in the main Pokemon handheld lineup. But what do we expect to get out of these games? Well what we do know is:
Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 release in Japan on June 23rd, and in the US and Europe this coming Autumn...
- the games take two years after the events of the first two games, the Male and Female protagonists that you play as will be the same as in the first two, but they will be older and with different clothing and hairstyles.
- these are true sequels to the last two games, meaning that you'll have to play Black 2 if you previously played Black in order to get what's going on.
- the Pokemon shown on the front covers are actually two new forms of Kyurem (sorry, no fusion this time :( ) the forms are appropriately called "Black Kyurem" and "White Kyurem", these are kind of Kyurem's mock forms of the previous two Legendaries, Reshiram and Zekrom. Both are still Dragon/Ice type but Black Kyurem can also learn powerful Electric type moves and White Kyurem can learn powerful Fire type moves. Both will also learn a very powerful and unique attack that makes these two new Kyurems very different but awesome.
- the Pokemon Meloetta will also, finally, show off its new form in these sequels as well. It is her pirouette form that was revealed back on Pokemon Black and White, but never available.
- Gamefreak did announce there would be "New Pokemon" in this game, this could be nothing really other than new forms and such but you never know for sure.
- new parts of the cities will be shown, and visually the games will look much different than the previous two titles.
- Pokemon from the old generations will also be available to capture in the wild. This is very different since the first two games only had 5th generation Pokemon throughout the game until you beat the game. Old generation Pokemon revealed so far are Tyranitar, Eevee, Metagross, Mareep, Psyduck, Riolu, Arcanine, Weavile, and Lapras plus we can expect their evolutions to appear also. More will be revealed later on.
- Above all else, the game will go for a much darker storyline.

Risen 2: Dark Waters delayed for nearly three months!
The game will now ship on July 31, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3
in North America and on August 3 in European countries. The console
version now include “The Air Temple” episode, which features "several
hours" of additional gameplay.
The PC version is still on track for release on April 27, 2012 through digital distribution only.
This is sad news for anyone who has been waiting to play this game on console. But hey, could have been a lot worse... could have been canceled. So lighten up?

Why the Halo movie failed to see the light of day
Halo is huge, really huge. So it's no wonder that Microsoft had high hopes for a movie to be made based on their major juggernaut, but sadly their first attempts failed. But was it really Hollywood's fault for why the film never saw the light of day? The article that explains the reasoning is quite large and too explanitory to say on this post, but I will say that Microsoft really needs to get off its High Horse.

Let's hope that the movie will still, eventually, see the light of day in the future.

Prey 2 has not been worked on since November...
It's good to know that Prey 2 has not been canceled and will be expected sometime in 2013, but why the major rumors of it being canceled? well since the game was put on hold since November, one could easily jump to conclusions.
Prey 2 has been in turmoil for quite some time. Apparently, Human Head was unhappy with its contract with ZeniMax and performed a sort of mutiny, pausing the game's development in hopes of working out a better deal. In the meantime, developers were laid off with hopes that they would be able to return once a settlement was reached.
If anyone remembers, the first Prey was also in Limbo hell for nearly ten years before it was finally released on the 360. So will the game finally get released in 2013, or will it continue to delay until it gets released on the next generation consoles?

Crysis 3 officially revealed by Crytek / information and teaser to trailer revealed
Crytek and EA officially revealed Crysis 3 a mere week ago. The game is to be released sometime in 2013 [no exact date was given] and will once again be released on both PC and consoles (PS3 and 360 specifically) just like the second one was.
From what we are told, the setting is in a Jungle [actual Jungle] infested New York City that has been demolished due to the events of Crysis 2, thus blending the Jungle setting of the first game and the city setting of the second together. You will once again play as Prophet [better known as Alcatraz, who replaced Laurence Barnes as the wearer of the Nanosuit. play Crysis 2 to learn more about this]. It is said the campaign would lurk into a "Revenge Mission" kinda game.
DLC bonus deals for pre-order have also been revealed such as Hunter and Predator pack among others. Here is a teaser trailer for a much larger trailer set to be released on April 24th:
The full video will be shown on this post when it comes out. But what are peoples thoughts about the third Crysis game being revealed this early? Are you excited?

Arkham City DLC teased, Harely Quinn's Revenge
This teaser pic was just released today and, for those who have played the two Arkham games, it is easy to see that it's Harely Quinn holding a hammer weapon.
Considering how the second game ends [which will not be spoiled] this DLC could tell a short story of what happens after the events of Arkham City, in a way that may lead into the third game.
PS3Trophies.com also revealed the 10 trophies that you get from the DLC, one of which potentially reveals the possible name of the Harely Quinn DLC:

Your Thoughts on Halo 4
Prepare for Soul Sacrifice for the PS Vita
Soul Sacrifice has been revealed, via Japanese magazine teaser. Best way to describe it? a Dark souls/Demon's souls kinda game with a monster hunter feel to combat and death blows as brutal and bloody as Dead space and/or God of War.
It is a PS Vita exclusive that may or may not have a connection with the original Demon's souls, I guess it's best to take that possibility with a grain of salt.
Fall of Cybertron Gameplay reveal for Grimlock
The game is shaping up to be an excellent August release, but now we finally get a look at the new and different gameplay for when you play as the Dinobots.
Meet Grimlock, he is the leader of the Dinobots and one of the most powerful Autobots in the universe. Instead of using guns and shooting weapons, he goes old school sword and sheild on baddies. Due to how powerful his firebreathing space T-rex being insanely powerful, you can only transform when your rage meter loads up, which is an exclusive feature only to the Dinobots (and possibly Bruticus).
Here is the Video:
Which reminds me, Darksiders II also gets released in August due to a Delay issue, I guess now there's competition :)

Demon's Souls Online servers will DIE!
Atlus has confirmed that after May the North American Online servers for Demon's Souls, the game that has forever changed online gaming experience since 2009, will be shut down for good :(
Online, "Prepare to Die"
At least we still have Dark Souls, which will now also be heading to PC thanks to an Online fan Petition of 100,000 signatures, and the company "From Software" has future plans, such as a third sequel, headed our way soon. So we should start looking ahead instead of mourning for the death from the past.
Still, anyone sad or mad about this?

You can dress like Leon, for $1,300
Leon has always been stylish, he also had a mean fur coat in Resident Evil 4, but now we are capable of dressing exactly like him for an unexpected price.
Silconera has translated the Japanese-only advertisement for the premium edition of the game, which retails for 105,000 yen. It includes four exclusive tablet covers – one featuring Chris, Leon, Wesker’s son Jake Muller, and a secret character – and, of course, the game itself.
Of course, you can always just go and buy similar clothing in regular stores. Seriously, would anyone be willing to pay for this?

NEWS: Crysis 3 basically confirmed by EA
Through an unexpected surprise, EA has "accidentally" released a Banner for Crysis 3 earlier on their digital store today. It is off now but the image has already spread across the web like wildfire:
EA already made a statement about this little reveal, stating that "the best kept secrets in shooters just simply can't be contained". They also assured us to expect more info on April 16th.
The first game was an excellent, and well beloved, sandbox shooter for the PC, the second one was a great and worthy sequel that expanded the story to unexpected lengths. We can expect the third to be just as good. So is anyone excited about this announcement? Does this make any newbies want to get into the Crysis franchise?

RUMOR: Darksiders II release date delayed? / Resident Evil 6 new release date
With the announcement of Darksiders II release this June, being one of the only two major summer game releases (the other being Dragon's Dogma in May), also with the new $100 collectors edition (which is awesome by the way) this game has gotten plenty of people to pre-order and prepare for June. Well, maybe they'll have to wait longer.
With THQ having to possibly lay off employees, and rumors about the game still going through a "reconstructing" process, Virgil might have to delay the game to a later release this year. But as of now, nothing is certain.
Perhaps the game will now release in the fall, near the Wii U's launch, since the game is also going to be a Wii U launch title. But still, what do you guys think? Would a delay really disappoint you? Or does the delay not matter, as long as the game is still good?

In other news, Resident Evil 6 also just had a new release date, but this one has great approval.
Originally scheduled to release in November, the game will now be release on October 2nd. Now we have this game, Bioshock Infinite, and Assassin's Creed III to look forward too, who knew that October would just get better and batter?
Speaking of which. I (Tom) have just recently pre-ordered Bioshock Infinite, which actually comes out on my birthday, and I plan to also pre-order Assassin's Creed III sometime. Point is, does anyone else have plans to pre-order any games this year?
