the Wii U is finally upon us! Was it a Hit or Miss?

Nintendo is the first to unleash the next generation console of their own creation: the Wii U, while not all of us have gotten the pleasure to either buy or try it for ourselves yet, is it worth it?

Give us your input! Is the Wii U the next best thing that is worth the cash and attention, or is it not entirely as intriguing as it seems to be? Hopefully one of us here will give our own input soon...

Your thoughts on the Wii U

The Wii U is basically around the corner now, and is already getting pre-ordered like mad, but is this new Nintendo HD console as awesome as it sounds?

There is the standard 8GB that just comes with the console, game controller, and the accessories at a reasonable price of 300 bucks. The other is a 32GB deluxe set that comes with a bit more, including a copy of Nintendo land, this one costs 350 bucks (p.s. all the pre-orders for the deluxe is sold out at many online retailers, so finding one for sale will be hard until its release). But do we really want to jump in now and buy low Gigabyte console when they'll probably release a 60, 250, or a 320GB console on a later date? Of course that's assuming they do release higher gig consoles.

Many launch game titles are coming out too, from the many obvious ones (like New Super Mario Bros. U) to the shocking and very surprising titles (like Zombi U or even Assassin's Creed III). It is pretty great to know that the games are going to have much much more variety this time around, along with our favorite classics like Mario or Zelda, but one thing is something to keep in mind, the price. The games will cost 60 bucks like the games for PS3 and 360, that really brings on the pain to our wallets. And they have also confirmed that the HD will not be as powerful as the other HD consoles, so would that weaken the look of most of the game graphics for titles like Aliens: Colonial Marines and Mass Effect 3? (NOTE: we here don't believe that graphics make the game so this isn't an issue with us, however this may be an issue for others).

Plus it's a launch console with launch titles, who's to say that the launch games will not fully use everything that the game pads can do? Geoff admits that it's actually a really fun thing to use, and it could be useful for many game ideas, and he will more than likely talk about it in episode 12 along with Shrew.

E3 2012 reveals- PART 7

Everything Nintendo (Wii U)...

One more company to go, Nintendo had the biggest reveals this year to contribute to their future console, the Wii U, and also really had to re-show what was known about the console last year...

WHAT WE KNEW AND KNOW NOW ABOUT THE WII U!

Here's what we know for sure:

• Wii U's controllers have been redesigned to be a much better fit for the HD console, Obviously they will have mini HD screens that act as cross-platform control or a game helper. In addition, they also announced that each console can use two of these Mini HD controllers at the same time. Also, they have another new controller that can be used for the console also. While having no mini screen or pad-like look, it does look so much like a 360 controller that it's easily laughable. And it also has the two analog sticks on top and buttons on the bottom... what's with that???
• The Wii U comes in two colors on launch day, Black and White. Hooray for announcing the most overused colors by Nintendo. 
• Many new games have been announced for Wii U, also mentioned. Games such as Batman: Arkham City, Darksiders II, Zelda HD, Rayman Legends (which may be an exclusive), and even Zombi U, which is a fun exclusive game that really requires using the HD mini controllers for play.
• It was mentioned that Wii U is compatible to normal Wii games and even Gamecube ones still. And despite being an HD console, it is still not as powerful as the PS3 or even the 360.
• As a side note, Aliens: Colonial Marines is said to be best on the Wii U. Apparently the game has been worked to use the controls and mini screens to perfection, however we'll be the judge of that in February.
• Wii U currently has calibration problems... uh oh! Hopefully they can fix that.
• Wii U will have Netflix, Hulu, Amazon instant video, and of course Youtube. 
• It will have some kind of new Nintendo Network  that is vaguely similar to the PSN and XBL.
• The Two most impressive game reveals was Wii U versions of Mass Effect 3 and Assassin's Creed III, two games that were thought to have never been on a Nintendo console, at least in similar quality that is. 
• it will have 8 GB internal flash memory, but is also expandable by SD cards and USB Hard Disk drives. Learn More about the technical specs of the console via Wikipedia under hardware...

 3DS GOODIES

Not much 3DS stuff was expounded upon, especially due to Wii U being the big thing, but enough 3DS news was acceptable enough. For example: Luigi's Mansion 2 is very probably going to be the next biggest hit for the 3DS...

Will Star Fox and Metroid collide???

Please take this with a Grain of Salt, but it is possible that these two characters, as well as their worlds, will collide in one big Nintendo game.

It is rumored that Retro studios next game will actually be a crossover between the Star fox and Metroid franchises coming out for the Wii U. The belief is that Retro decided to do this over doing another Star fox game and a new Third-Person entry, and that this game will possibly be titled: "Star Fox - Metroid: Fusion saga."This rumor comes from a PGN blog post that was also correct about old rumors for "Playstation All Stars Battle Royale" before the game was officially announced. Put not even PGN knows if these rumors are true or not.

True to each franchise, Star Fox segments of the game are based on high-action, high energy third-person air and land-based combat, both in Arwings and on-foot. Conversely Metroid portions of the title are more isolated, lonely, and based on the first-person perspective introduced with Metroid Prime.
